Code of Conduct
To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all, Skate Molton CIC has established the following Code of Conduct. All participants must adhere to these guidelines while using our facilities.
General Rules
- Follow the natural flow and pattern of the skate park.
- Wait your turn before attempting your run and respect skate etiquette.
- No wax to be used on any obstacle or ramp.
- Lessons or contests are NOT allowed unless organized by Skate Molton CIC.
- Food and drink containers are NOT permitted in the skate area.
- Skating is only allowed in designated areas—no skating outside of the park.
- Use appropriate language and be respectful to all participants, staff, and volunteers.
Safety Requirements
- Participants 16 years and under must wear a helmet at all times in the skate area. Additional protective gear (knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards) is highly recommended.
- All participants must sign a waiver. Those under 18 require a parent or legal guardian's signature.
- All participants must wear a Skate Molton CIC wristband while in the skate area.
- Proper attire is required at all times, including skate shoes or running shoes and shirts.
- Report all accidents and injuries to a Skate Molton CIC staff member immediately.
Respect & Responsibility
- Take care of our equipment and premises as if they were your own.
- Skate Molton CIC is not responsible for lost or stolen items—please leave valuables at home.
- Smoking and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in the facility.
- Report any incidents of bullying, including homophobia and transphobia, to a Skate Molton CIC staff member—even if you’re just a witness.
- Report any defective equipment immediately to Skate Molton CIC staff.
- Skate sessions are at your own risk. While our staff and volunteers are present, we encourage parents and guardians to remain on-site.
Enforcement
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in the termination of membership and/or removal from the skate park. Skate Molton CIC reserves the right to enforce these rules to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Parent Code of Conduct
As a parent or guardian of a child taking part in our club or activity, we ask that you follow these guidelines to help create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment for all participants.
The Essentials
- Ensure your child has the correct equipment for sessions, along with sufficient food and drink.
- Make sure your child arrives on time and is appropriately supervised. Please note, Skate Molton CIC cannot assume parental responsibility.
- Inform us if you are running late or if someone else will be collecting your child.
- Complete all consent, contact, and medical forms and update us immediately if any details change.
- Ensure your child wears a helmet at all times—this is mandatory. Pads are highly recommended.
- Maintain a positive and cooperative relationship with Skate Molton CIC.
- Talk to us if you have any concerns regarding your child’s experience—we want to hear from you.
Behaviour
- Take the time to learn about your child’s sport and what it means to them.
- Talk to your child about what they want to achieve through skating.
- Recognize that skating provides a wide range of benefits beyond competition, such as making friends, improving fitness, and developing skills.
- Respect your child’s wishes if they express that they do not want to participate.
- Encourage and support children positively from the sidelines—cheer them on and show pride in their efforts.
- Be mindful that your behavior affects not just your child, but also other children and families.
- Encourage your child to respect and celebrate differences among participants.
- Lead by example when demonstrating positive behavior and sportsmanship.
- Respect the judgment of marshals and event organizers.
- Use social media responsibly when discussing events, behaving online as you would in person.
- Teach your child about good etiquette and respect for others at the skate park.
- Ensure your child understands and follows the Skate Molton CIC skate park etiquette and Code of Conduct.
Your Rights as a Parent
- Be assured that your child is safeguarded while under our supervision.
- Access our policies and procedures at any time.
- Know who the designated welfare officer is and how to contact them.
- Have the opportunity to contribute to decisions regarding activities and events.
- Be informed of the training and qualifications of our staff.
- Receive updates on any concerns or issues regarding your child.
- Be informed in the event of an accident or injury and have access to incident records.
- Provide additional consent for activities beyond those covered in the initial consent form.
- Have any concerns regarding your child’s welfare heard and responded to appropriately.
Enforcement
We expect all parents to follow this Code of Conduct. If a parent behaves in a manner that contradicts these guidelines, we will address the issue directly in an effort to resolve it.
Repeated concerns or breaches may result in parents being asked not to attend events if their presence is deemed a risk to the enjoyment and welfare of participants.
Continued violations may regrettably result in us asking your child to leave the activity, event, or club permanently—an action we always seek to avoid.

Health and Safety

HQ Visitor Access Policy
Skate Molton CIC is committed to providing safe and accessible routes for all visitors. The following guidelines outline how to access our headquarters at 107 East Street, South Molton, EX36 3DB, either on foot or by vehicle for disabled visitors. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure a safe visit.
Visitor Access by Foot
Important Information:
- Access to Skate Molton HQ is only via foot traffic unless disabled.
- Do not use the access route if a tanker is present at the petrol station.
- Do not walk across the petrol forecourt at any time.
- If a tanker is present, use the alternative access route just past the petrol station or contact Skate Molton on = DISPLAY_PHONE_NUMBER; ?>.
Access to Skate Molton HQ from the Car Park
- Walk down the car park to Southley Road.
- Turn right onto Southley Road, then turn left onto New Road.
- Walk past the Pagoda Wok Chinese restaurant, then turn right onto East Street.
- Walk along East Street until you reach the petrol station near 107 East Street.
- When you reach the petrol station, do not walk through the forecourt; stay on the path until you reach the access road.
- Follow the access road, keeping a safe distance from the petrol forecourt, until you reach Skate Molton HQ at 107 East Street.
Leaving the Building
- Leaving the building is via the same access route.
- As before, do not walk through the forecourt.
- Head straight out towards the road with extreme caution of vehicles, staying close to the wall.
