From face painting and inflatable bouncy castle for the little ones to live music and local vendor stalls for the adults, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
  3. Food and Refreshments: Fuel your fun-filled day with delectable treats from various food trucks and vendors offering a diverse range of cuisines. Savor mouthwatering snacks, refreshing beverages, and delightful desserts to keep your energy levels up throughout the event.

Skate-a-Thon Fundraising

Join Skate Molton CIC and our awesome volunteers for a skate-a-thon from Bideford to Barnstaple.

We will be putting in the miles raising money to go towards Skate Molton CIC’s HQ project and other charity’s and we couldn’t be more excited! This is a great opportunity to fundraise for some great causes and we welcome you all to help where you can, either by donating, coming along or joining in with the skate-a-thon to help us raise funds.

Joining in

We are opening our skate-a-thon to the members of the public who skateboard, roller skate or scoot and have fundraising forms available for download for you to use. It is highly advised that those who wish to join us are comfortable skating on their own for some distance. If you wish to join us we must require that you signup below and read the waiver carefully and accept the terms.

Please note, if you are already a Skate Molton CIC member then the same form and terms apply so you dont need to sign up again.

The route and times

Advanced skaters: Meet at Bideford Skate Park at 9:15 setting off at 9:45 —- Arrive at John’s of Instow at 11:10 am leaving there at 11:40 —- Arrive at Fremington Quay at 1:00 leaving at 1:30 —- Arrive at The Station Masters Café in Barnstaple at 2:30 leaving at 2:55 — Arrive at Rock Park by 3:30 for food & fun!! (10.5 Miles)

Intermediates: Meet at The Station Masters Café, Barnstaple at 11:40 setting off by 12:00 —- Arrive at Fremington Quay at 1:00 leaving at 1:30 —- Arrive at The Station masters Café at 2:30 leaving at 2:55 —- Arrive at Rock Park by 3:30 for food & fun!! (6.2 miles)

Beginners: Meet at the Station Masters Café at 2:30 leaving at 2:55 —- Arrive at Rock Park 3:30 for food & fun!!! (0.8 miles) 

Bonus points for the best dressed skater!

** You MUST have signed up to the skate-a-thon viathe link above & join at the stop they feel most confident skating from. This is not recommended for those who have never skated (Rock Park is the place to be for that). Must be confident skating for a long distance when skating from Bideford)

Step 1 – Bideford skatepark to John’s of Instow.

Meeting at Bideford skate park (Kingsley Rd, Bideford, EX39 2LJ) at 9:15am we will then depart at 9:45am.

We will follow Kingsley Rd to the Quay and then along the Quay and across the Old Bideford Bridge to join the Tarka trail. From this point we follow the Tarka trail along to John’s of Instow.

Step 2 – John’s of Instow to Fremington Quay

Arriving at John’s of Instow (4 & 5 Marine Parade, Instow, Bideford, EX39 4HY) for approximately 11:10am we will look to depart at 11:40am following the Tarka Trail to Fremington Key.

Step 3 – Fremington Quay to Station Masters Cafe

Arriving at Fremington Quay (Fremington, Barnstaple EX31 2NH) at approximately 1:00pm we will aim to depart at 1:30pm taking the Tarka trail to Sticklepath Hill and through the bus lane (using bike paths) to the Station Masters Cafe.

Step 4 – Station Masters Cafe to Rock Park Skatepark

Arriving at Station Masters Cafe (Railway Station, Station Rd, Barnstaple, EX31 2AU) at approximately 2:30pm we will leave at 3pm following paths to Rock Park skatepark at 3:20pm.
